Sports day

What a fabulous Sport's Day we have had this year. A big thank you to Mr Ellis for organising the afternoon's activities which the children participated in with such enthusiasm. At the end of the running races, it was clear that it was going to be close between all the teams. So a big congratulations to the Green team who were the well-deserved winners!

Today we have waved goodbye to Mr Gardner who has left us to further his career in education. We would all like to wish him luck in what he chooses to do next and thank him for the hard work that he has accomplished at Luttons Community Primary School.

Friends of Luttons School summer fair

The summer fair was a huge success raising a grand total of £564.50, well done to all the FOLS members who put a lot of hard work and effort into making this a great day.

Dave from Skip2Bfit joined us on Tuesday and the children really enjoyed their session, he created lots of fun and enthusiasm.

Reports to parents 6th July

End of year reports are being issued today, please contact the school office (via email) if you would like additional copies of reports.

Forest School Class 2 9th July

Forest School is going really well with all the Class 2 children thoroughly enjoying getting involved.

These are the remaining dates. Can you please ensure that your children bring a kit with them which needs to include old clothes, long trousers and long sleeve tops with old trainers that can get mucky.

Monday 9th July 1.15pm to 3pm

Open afternoon 10th July

Please join us at 2.30pm on Tuesday 10th July for our school open afternoon, this is a chance to look at your child’s books and see how much progress they have made this year. Staff will be on hand to discuss achievements and next steps.

Dalby Trip 11th July

Just a reminder about the Dalby trip on Wednesday, if you have not asked for a school packed lunch please ensure your child is sent with one including water.  Please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the weather i.e. sun cream and hat or a light waterproof coat. Children should wear trainers and PE kits with long trousers or leggings; these are recommended by the forestry commission due to the risk of ticks at this time of year.

Madhyamaka Kadampa Mediation Centre 16th July

A reminder the whole school federation trip to the Madhyamaka Kadampa Mediation Centre is on Monday 16th July, please remember packed lunches if you have not ordered one from school and sensible footwear.

Leavers Assembly 17th July

Our leavers’ Celebration Assembly will be at 10.30am on Tuesday 17th July, please join us to say goodbye to our Year 6 students.

FOLS disco 19th July

Friends of Luttons school are planning an end of term disco on Thursday 19th July, this will take place at 3.30pm. Tickets will be £5 and include food, drink and a glitter tattoo for each child.

Tesco Bags of Help

Tesco in Driffield have agreed that Luttons School can be part of the bags of help grant scheme for the month of July. Each time you shop in Tesco and use their carrier bags you should receive some coins to put into the special boxes near the door – if you do not get them please ask.  Also if you use the self-service checkouts you do not get them so you must ask a member of staff. There are 3 different receiving communities and the 1 with the most coins at the end of the month receives a £4000 grant, 2nd place receives £2000 and 3rd place receives £1000. Can we all please make sure we can boost our chance of winning by shopping in Tesco and dropping the coins in the correct box!  The grant will be put towards a revamp for the little ones play area which will make a huge difference to the school. Big thanks to Maggie Pickard for getting the school involved in such a great cause!

Class 2 are in need of some pebbles, if you have any unused ones at home that you can donate to school, we would be very grateful.
